Steps to Renew Your Mississippi Insurance License

Your state requirements can be found below or by accessing the Mississippi Insurance Division website. Click Here - Upon completion of our online courses you will be able to print your certificates online and we will report your credit hours directly to the Mississippi Insurance Department via Sircon within ten business days.
- The Mississippi Insurance Department requires CE for L/A&H to be completed by December 31st and CE for P&C and Adjusters to be completed by May 31st. For more information visit the Mississippi website (601-359-3569).
State Insurance Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Course work must be in the line or lines for which license is held.
- Life, Health, and Accident: 12 hours annually
- Property and Casualty: 12 hours annually
- Combined L/H and P/C licensees must meet both requirements
Continuing Education Compliance Date
12/31 annually for L/A&H agents, 5/31 annually for P/C agents, and 5/31 annually for Adjusters.
License Renewal Date
- For Life/Health licenses, the renewal date is 12/31 annually.
- For Property/Casualty licenses, the renewal date is 5/31 annually.
- For Adjuster licenses, the renewal date is 5/31 annually.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
Independent self study courses or classroom.
Course Subject Requirements
All courses must be licensed related courses.
Carryover Requirements
Carryover of excess CE credit hours is not allowed.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for courses taken more than once in a three year period.
Final Exam
Final Exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party. A disinterested 3rd party is anyone who is not related to or able to benefit from, action of the agent.
Exemptions
- L/A/H agents who hold CLU, CHFC, CFP or LUTC
- P/C agents are exempt in the 1st and 2nd year
- Agents who hold only a limited-lines license that did not require a written exam
- Inactive agents
- Agents holding the limited licenses of industrial fire, small loan or full coverage auto
- Newly licensed agents are exempt for the reporting period in which the license is issued
