How many hours will it take me to complete the online course before taking state exam?
Texas does not mandate insurance pre-licensing training requirement to become an Insurance Agent. Our insurance license exam prep courses are approved by TDI and cover 40 hours of top content developed by industry experts to help you pass the Texas state insurance license exam.
Where do you take the state exam?
The Texas Insurance Pre-License Exam is taken at a designated Pearson testing center. Prepare for the Texas Life & Health or Property & Casualty Insurance agent licensing exam by taking our online self-study courses created especially for the Texas Insurance Exams as administered by Prometric and schedule your insurance exam through Prometric at http://www.prometric.com/texas. Student must register themselves and attest to facts. Once you have completed the prep course, you have to forward your certificate to TDI together with your application.
Do I need to have a sponsor to take the exam?
You no-longer need to have a sponsor to take the insurance exam in Texas. Anyone interested in becoming an insurance agent in Texas must meet the minimum licensing requirements and take the insurance exam in Texas.
What is the state exam and licensing fees?
Register for the Pearson VUE exam for about $60. Upon passing the exam, submit your application to and pay your fees ($55 for initial application) to the Texas Dept. of Insurance for your insurance license. (click here for TX insurance license application).
Insurance Adjuster License Training
How many hours will it take me to complete the online Adjuster License course before taking state exam?
Our online Insurance Property & Casualty Adjuster license training course meets the 40 Hr Classroom Equivalent course requirement and is approved by Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). The Adjuster licensing course was updated in 2010 and adheres to the content updates required for you to become an insurance adjuster.
Our online All Lines Adjuster license course meets the 40 Hr All Lines Adjuster training requirement and is also approved by TDI.
Where do you take the state exam?
Now, you can take the Adjuster License Exam online after completing the course. The final exam is included with our packages. This allows you to save time and money as you do not need to schedule your exam with Prometric and save on the $60 registration fee.
Will I need to pay for the state exam registration and licensing fee?
No, as mentioned above, you do not need to register for the state exam as we offer you the convenience of taking the final exam online, at the end of the course. However, after you pass the adjuster license online exam, you do need to download your certificate of completion from your account at learninsurance.com (instantly available after passing the online exam), print it and send it along with $50 adjuster licensing fees. Do I need to have a sponsor to take the exam?
No, you do not need a sponsor. This requirement is no longer in place and was applicable only in the case of applying for insurance agent license, not adjuster license.
