Insurance in hurricane-prone Alabama has a major impact on the state’s economy beyond shouldering individual and business recovery expenditures after natural disasters. In 2009, for example, direct property/casualty incurred payouts totaled $4.4 billion. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Alabama’s insurance industry created 34,311 jobs in 2009, with about $2.1 billion in compensation. In addition, Alabama reported direct premiums written by property/casualty insurance companies totaled $6.4 billion in 2009, and by life/health insurance companies, $6.8 billion, also in 2009. Insurance contributed an estimated $3.9 billion to the Alabama gross state product in 2008.

What are the courses?

  • An eminently useful glossary/index for quick access to all the key terms needed for mastering the course.
  • Quizzes that simulate the state licensing examination to give the student a taste of the real thing and to assess the student’s progress.
  • A final exam to test not just to the student’s preparedness for the state licensing examination but also to catch inadequacies that will need correction.

Alabama Insurance License Reciprocity
An Alabama insurance license is usually obtained by passing the state’s insurance licensing examination. However, an Alabama insurance license can be obtained by a licensed agent from another state without having to take and pass the state’s insurance licensing examination if his (or her) state has reciprocity arrangements with Alabama. One such state is Texas, which has reciprocity with 32 other states, including Alabama.

learninsurance.com is a premier provider of Texas insurance coursework for preparing for the Texas insurance licensing examination. A Texas insurance license holder can apply for and obtain a license in one or more of the other states (an Alabama insurance license, for example) without having to take the other state’s insurance licensing examination and being required to comply with that state’s continuing education requirements.
