Variable Life & Variable Annuity - 20 hour course on Variable Life & Variable Annuity
Automobile Full Coverage - 20 hour course on Automobile Insurance, or 20-hour course on
Personal Lines Insurance, or 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance
Combined Property & Casualty - 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance
Personal Lines - 20 hour course on Personal Lines Insurance or 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance
Bail Bonds - 20 hour course on Bail Bonds

Self-Study, Online, Classroom
Course Submit Requirements:
At least 5 hrs of the pre-licensing requirement must be dedicated to the discussion of Alabama Law.
Licensing Exam:
All applicants must go online to University of Alabama website to schedule their licensing exam. Exams must be taken within one year of completing a pre-licensing course.
Pre-License Exemptions:
Holders of the following designations:
-Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) - for the lines of property, casualty, personal lines, and automobile
-Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) - for the lines of property, casualty, personal lines, and automobile
-Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) - for the lines of life, accident & health or sickness, and variable life/annuity
Applicants for the following lines of authority:
-Industrial Fire (Requried to take the licensing exam only)
-Credit
-Legal Service
-Dental Service
-Motor Club
-Rental Vehicle
Applicants who become residents of the state of Alabama and who provide a letter of clearance can be licensed for those lines of authority shown on the clearance letter.
