Alaska Insurance Continuing Education Requirements

Licensees are required to complete 24 hrs of continuing education. biennially

Same as license renewal date.

Agents whose year of birth is an odd-numbered year will renew biennially on their birth date in odd-numbered years and agents whose year of birth is an even-numbered year will renew biennially on their birth date in even-numbered years. Agent's expiration date will appear on their license. The Insurance Division will send a renewal form to the agent 60 days prior to their renewal date.

Independent self-study courses,classroom or video/electronic courses

- No more than 8 hrs may be taken in business management courses
- Licensees are required to take 3 hrs of Ethics
- Licensees are required to take 3 hrs of Flood training

A maximum of eight credit hours may be carried over to the next reporting period.

Credit will not be given for courses that are repeated.

Self-study final exams are not required to be monitored.

Any person licensed less than two years at the time of the first license renewal
• Any nonresident who submits evidence satisfactory to the director that the licensee has satisfied any CE requirement in their resident state
• Any person who was licensed with this division prior to January 1, 1980
• Any person holding a temporary license or a limited lines, retired, or travel license
