Continuing Education Hours
Connecticut requires that all resident producers complete 24 hours of CE every two years.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
CE must be completed every two years by the license renewal date which is the producer's date of birth.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
• Self-study
• Classroom study
• Online courses
Course Subject Requirements
Producers must complete 24 credit hours. Of the 24 credit hours, at least 6 hours in each major line held; at least 3 hours in Laws/Reg/Ethics; and the balance in any type or combination. Effective August 1, 2007, all Connecticut resident Producer licensees with Property/Casualty OR Personal Lines authority must complete a one-time 3-credit course on Federal Flood requirements. The 3 credits apply toward your total Property/Casualty CE requirement.
Carryover Requirements
Carryover of excess CE credit hours is NOT allowed.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party.
Course Repetition
No course repetition is allowed within the same licensing period.
