- The Delaware Insurance Department requires CE to be completed biennially on February 28th of even numbered years for resident producers. For more information visit the Delaware website (302-674-7390).
State Insurance Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Twenty-four (24) CE credit hours including 3 hours of Ethics are required biannually. Hours must be taken in lines for which license is held.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
February 28, biannually.
License Renewal Date
February 28, biannually.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
- Self-study
- Classroom study
- On line courses
Course Subject Requirements
- All licenses must complete 3 hours in ethics as part of their regular CE requirement.
- Licensees who solicit long term care policies must complete at least 3 hours of training in Delaware long term care insurance.
- Licensees who are authorized to write homeowners or personal lines coverage are required to complete a one-time two (2) hour continuing education course related to flood insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program.
Carryover Requirements
A maximum of 5 hours may be carried over to the next reporting period. The carryover credits shall not apply to the ethics credit requirement.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in a 2 year compliance period.
Final Exam
Final exam is not required to be monitored.
