Georgia Insurance Continuing Education Requirements

-All resident licensees with less than 20 years of service must complete 15 hrs of continuing education, including 3 hrs of ethics, annually.

-All resident licensees with more than 20 years of service must complete 10 hrs of continuing education, including 3 hrs of ethics, annually.

-All resident licensees with a Credit Insurance or Limited Subagent license ONLY must complete 5 hrs of continuing education, annually.

-All resident licensees with a Workers Compensation Adjuster license ONLY must complete 10 hrs of continuing education thru the WC Board, annually.

-All individuals holding the following professional designations are required to complete 6 hrs of continuing education, including 3 hrs of ethics: CPCU, CLU, FLMI, CIC, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), CHFC, Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or a major BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from an accredited college.

Credit hours must cover lines in which licensed.

Only 50% of your continuing education requirement may be carried over to the next compliance period.

LTC/P: All licensees who plan to sell solicit or negocitate long term care insurance must complete a one-time 8 hr long term care training course, followed by 4 hrs of ongoing training every two years, thereafter.

-Credit will not be given for the same Continuing Education Course for period of (5) years, unless the topic of course is current issues, ethics or legislative updates.

If you are newly licensed, you may use your pre-licensing course as credit for completing your continuing education requirement for your first year only.
