State Insurance Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
Twenty-four (24) CE credit hours including 3 hours of Ethics are required biannually.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
Same as license renewal date.
License Renewal Date
As of September 18th, 2007 license renewal date is birth month, biennially.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit
- Self-study
- Classroom study
- On line courses
Course Subject Requirements
- All agents must take 3 hours of law / ethics each licensing cycle.
- Producers selling long term care insurance must complete an initial 8 hour course on long-term care prior to selling long-term care policies and a 4 hour course biennially thereafter. Initial compliance must be met by 11/01/07. Credits may be applied to overall CE compliance.
- All Idaho insurance producers licensed in property, casualty or Personal lines of authority who sell flood insurance through NFIP must complete a one-time course related to the NFIP which will provide three (3) hours of continuing education credit no later than 04/01/07.
Carryover Requirements
A maximum of 5 hours may be carried over to the next reporting period. The carryover credits shall not apply to the ethics credit requirement.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in a reporting period.
Final Exam
Final exam is not required to be monitored.
