Continuing Education Hours:
All resident Life/Health or Property/Casualty producers must complete 12 hrs of continuing education including 1 hr of ethics, every two years.
All resident Public Adjusters producers must complete 12 hrs of approved property/casualty continuing education credit including 1 hr of ethics, every two years.
All resident Life/Health and Property/Casualty producers must complete 24 hrs of continuing education including 1 hr of ethics every two years.
All resident Crop ONLY producers must complete 2 hrs of approved crop continuing education credit.
All resident Pre-Need ONLY producers must complete 2 hrs of approved life/health continuing education credit.
All resident Title producers must complete 4 hrs of approved title continuing education credit.
Course Subject Restrictions:
No more than 3 hrs can be in insurance agency management courses.
Credit hours must cover lines in which licensed. Life/Health and Property/Casualty licensees must complete 12 hrs per line.
Additional Training Requirements:
NFIP Flood: All resident Property/Casualty or Personal Lines producers that may sell a flood insurance policy must complete a one-time 3 hr NFIP training course.
LTC/P: On and after July 1, 2010, each licensed insurance producer who sells, solicits, or negotiates a long-term care partnership program policy must complete a one-time 4 hr long term care training course, followed by 3 hrs of ongoing training every two years, thereafter.
Carryover Requirement:
Not permitted
Course Repetition:
A course may not be taken more than once for credit, within a compliance period.
Non-Resident Requirements:
Nonresident Public Adjusters must satisfy their home state continuing education requirement.
Continuing Education Compliance Date:
All licensees are required to comply with the continuing education requirement by the last day of their birth month, biennially. Odd/even years are based on year of birth.
License Renewal Date:
All licensees are required to comply with the continuing education requirement by the last day of their birth month, biennially. Odd/even years are based on year of birth.
