Steps to Renew Your Minnesota Insurance License

  • Complete the required 30 hours of Minnesota Insurance Continuing Education. Only half of the required hours may be completed online, the remainder must be done in a classroom setting. Enroll Now
  • Your state requirements can be found below or by accessing the Minnesota Insurance Division website. Click Here
  • Upon completion of your online courses you will be able to print the certificates of completion online. We will then report your hours directly to the state of Minnesota via Sircon reporting.

State Insurance Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing Education Hours

Minnesota regulations require that all resident agents complete 30 hours of CE to retain active license status.

Continuing Education Compliance Date

CE is due October 31st every two years.

Types of courses accepted for CE Credit

Online self-study courses or classroom. No more than one-half of the credit hours per licensing period required under this section may be credited to a person for attending any combination of courses either (1) sponsored by, offered by, or affiliated with an insurance company or its agents; or (2) offered using new delivery technology, including computer, interactive technology, and the Internet.

Course Subject Requirements

There are no license-related course subject requirements.

Carryover Requirements

Carryover of excess CE credit hours is NOT allowed.

Final Exam

Final exam is not required to be monitored.

Course Repetition

Courses may not be repeated in a renewal period.
