Continuing Education Hours
Effective July 1, 2010: All licensees must complete 24 hrs of continuing education including 3 hrs of Ethics.
All resident adjusters must take 24 hrs continuing education including 3 hrs of ethics. Insurance prelicense education
courses require 20 hrs specific to line of authority, the first 10 hrs must be an introduction to insurance, the second
10 hrs must be in a specific line of authority (life, accident and health, or property).
Continuing Education Compliance Date
Effective July 1, 2010: All licenses issued on or after August 1, 2010 must meet their continuing education requirements by the last day of the producer's birth month.
License Renewal Date
Effective July 1, 2010: All licenses issued on or after August 1, 2010, will renew by the last day of the producer's birth month.
Types of Courses Accepted for CE Credit
Effective July 1, 2010: There will be no restrictions on computer, interactive or internet courses.
Course Subject Requirements
There are no license-related course subject requirements.
Carryover Requirements
Carryover of excess CE hours is not allowed
Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for courses repeated in the same renewal period.
Final Exam
Effective July 1, 2010: The final exam must be proctored.
Additional Information
Independent and public adjusters must pay a $40 surcharge.
Exemptions
Non-resident adjusters must maintain a resident adjuster license in their home state in order for their MN Non-resident adjusters license to remain valid.
