Nebraska State Continuing Education Requirements

All producers must complete 21 hrs of CE biennially.

The compliance date is 45 days prior to license renewal. The renewal date is the last day of birth month, biennially.

• Classroom study

Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party. You will be required to print the affidavit found on your “My Training” page within the course.

Courses must be approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
Licensees must complete, in addition to the basic requirement, three hours in insurance-related ethics is required.
Individuals licensed for crop only, fidelity and surety only or title insurance only must complete an additional three hours in insurance-related ethics.
Effective August 1, 2008 for those who sell Long Term Care, 8 hours of approved education is required initially and 4 hours of CE every two years thereafter.

Excess CE credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting period.

Courses (including courses approved to meet the ethics requirement) may not be taken for credit more than once in a two-year period.

Individuals who hold a limited-lines license for credit life/credit accident and health, auto mechanical breakdown, prepaid legal, motor club, prepaid dental, health maintenance organization or unemployment credit insurance. Individuals licensed less than two years at the time of the first CE compliance date are exempt for that first reporting period. Non-residents are exempt (please follow the rules for CE in the state in which you are licensed in).
