Continuing Education Hours

• 20 hours biennially
• Agents with a limited lines license for title insurance must complete 10 hours biennially

Continuing Education Compliance Date

For individuals licensed prior to 7/1/93, compliance date is 12/31 of odd numbered years.
All others, the compliance period begins 1/1 of the year following the license issuance date and ends 12/31 two years later.

Course Subject Requirements

• Producers who sell flood insurance need to take a one-time, 3 hour, training class on flood insurance by 12/31/08, per NFIP.
• Title agents must take courses related to title insurance business.

Carryover Requirements

Not allowed.

Course Repetition

Courses may not be repeated more than once in a reporting period.

Final Exam

Final Exams for self-study exams do not need to be monitored.

Exemptions

• Newly licensed individuals begins the following 1/1, any courses taken before that time will not be credited for the 1st CE compliance period.
• Individuals who are retired or no longer active but must maintain their license to receive renewal commissions.
• Non resident agents if their state has CE requirements and a reciprocal agreement with Ohio.
• Corporations, Partnerships, and LLC's who hold licenses.
