Steps to Renew Your Vermont Insurance License
- Complete your required hours of Vermont Insurance Continuing Education. All your required hours may be completed online with our Self-Study courses on LearnInsurance.com. Enroll Now
- Your state requirements can be found below or by accessing the Vermont Department of Insurance website. Click Here
- Upon completion of our online courses you will be able to print your certificates online and we will report your credit hours directly to the Vermont Department of Insurance via Prometric within fifteen days.
- The Vermont Department of Insurance requires CE to be completed biennially by March 31st in odd-numbered years. For more information visit the FAQ section on the Prometric website.
State Insurance Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
24 hours biennially.
Of the 24 hours biennially 3 hours must be completed in Ethics and no more than 6 hours can be in Insurance Agency Management in one review period. All Vermont Property & Casualty agents are required to complete a one-time 3 hour flood insurance course.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
By March 31st in odd-numbered years.

Course Subject Requirements

Carryover of continuing education courses is NOT allowed.
Course Repetition

Exemptions
The CE requirement does not apply, however, to a producer until after the first renewal or first eligibility for renewal of his or her license. In addition, limited line representatives/agents, including title insurance, travel accident and travel baggage insurance, are not subject to the CE requirement.
