Continuing Education Hours
All resident producers must complete 24 hrs of continuing education including 3 hrs of ethics, every two years.
Additional Training Requirements
NFIP Flood Training: All resident property and casualty producers must complete a one-time 3 hr flood training course.
Course Subject Requirements
Credit hours must cover lines in which licensed. Property & Casualty and Life & Health producers are required to complete 6 hrs per line.
Carryover Credits
Not permitted.
Course Repetition
A course may not be taken more than once in a two year period.
Exemptions
A licensee may be exempt from the CE requirements if they meet one of the following requirements:
1. Long term illness, or incapacity (Physicians Certification required)
2. Active duty in the armed services of the United States outside of the Washington Metropolitan area
or
3. Any other emergency deemed sufficient by the Commissioner
Non-Resident Requirements
Non-resident licensed producers are to meet CE requirements in their home state.
Continuing Education Compliance Date
Last day of birth month, biennially.
License Renewal Date
Last day of birth month, biennially.
